A representation of the forest-farm in Sarteneja, north of Belize.

The Forest-farm is a prototype of organic farming in Sarteneja.

Important facts:

- No petrol derivative fertilizer (sold by Prosser and the Menonites).

- No chemical pesticides – herbicides (sold by the same).

- No slash and burn.

- No mechanical irrigation.

The principles:

- Keep the ecosystem of the forest as much as possible to fertilize the soil.

- Recreate the cycle of the nutriments that goes from the plants to the soil and the plant without staying in the soil (tropical soil).
