The 5-star Honkai: Star Rail character Luocha is much more than just a healer. With the right Luocha build, you can turn this mysterious foreign trader into an Imaginary DPS who’s also capable of buffing his team and debuffing the opponent - a true Jack of all trades.

Although we can’t tell you what’s inside Luocha’s coffin, we can show you our ideas for the best Luocha build below.

How to Get Luocha

Luocha was released in Honkai: Star Rail version 1.1. If you want him on your team, you’ll have to spend Special Star Rail Passes on his time-limited Character Event Warp banner. If you don’t manage to obtain Luocha while this banner is active, keep an eye out for his next Warp banner in the future.

Luocha Abilities

  • Basic Attack: Deals Imaginary DMG equal to 50% of Luocha’s ATK to a single enemy.
  • Skill: Immediately restore the target ally's HP equal to 40% of Luocha's ATK plus 200. Meanwhile, Luocha gains 1 stack of Abyss Flower. When any ally's HP percentage drops to 50% or less, an effect equivalent to Luocha's Skill will immediately be triggered and applied to this ally for one time (without consuming Skill Points). This effect can be triggered again after 2 turns.
  • Ultimate: Removes 1 buff from all enemies and deals Imaginary DMG equal to 120% of Luocha's ATK to all enemies. Luocha gains 1 stack of Abyss Flower.
  • Talent: When Abyss Flower reaches 2 stacks, Luocha consumes all stacks of Abyss Flower to deploy a Field against the enemy. When any enemy in the Field is attacked by an ally, the attacking ally’s HP is restored by 12% of Luocha's ATK plus 60. The Field's effect lasts for 2 turns. When Luocha is down, the Field will be dispelled.
  • Technique: Immediately triggers the Talent at the start of the battle.

Unlike fellow healers Natasha and Bailu, Luocha isn’t fully focused on keeping the team alive. In fact, he doesn’t even have the ability to heal all team members at the same time. This is mostly a good thing though, as it allows Luocha to help his team in other ways: when his HP restoration isn’t needed, Luocha can deal decent damage, buff his allies, and remove buffs from his opponents.

Luocha's main source of healing comes from his Skill, which allows him to immediately heal an ally. It also restores HP for a second ally (any ally, not just the one who received the original Skill effect), but not before it becomes necessary to do so. And if there aren’t any allies in need of healing? Then you can use Luocha’s Basic Attack to restore Skill Points for the team.

Perhaps even more important than the Skill, is Luocha’s Ultimate, as it has the extremely useful ability to remove buffs from opponents. At an Energy cost of only 100, you should be able to trigger this ability fairly often.

Make sure you trigger Luocha's Ultimate and Skill often enough to keep up his Field (his Talent effect). This will allow your allies to continuously restore a moderate amount of HP.

Luocha Traces

  • Cleansing Revival (bonus ability Ascension 2): When the Skill's effect is triggered, removes 1 debuff from a target ally.
  • Sanctified (bonus ability Ascension 4): When any enemy in the Field is attacked by an ally, all allies (except the attacker) restore HP equal to 7% of Luocha's ATK plus 93.
  • Through the Valley (bonus ability Ascension 6): The chance to resist Crowd Control debuffs increases by 70%.

The Trace Bonuses at Ascension 4 and 6 improve Luocha's healing ability and his own resistance, which is certainly helpful. However, by far the best Trace Bonus is the one unlocked at Ascension 2, as it grants him the ability to remove debuffs from allies - yet another handy support ability besides healing.

You need to upgrade all the ability-based Traces too, but prioritize the Skill and Talent if you want more reliable healing. Once you're ready to focus more on Luocha's DPS role, start upgrading his Ultimate. As for the remaining upgrades, go for ATK% increase first. Defense and HP are optional.

Luocha’s Eidolon Levels

Eidolon LevelNameEffect
1Ablution of the QuickWhile the Field is active, ATK of all allies increases by 20%.
2Bestowal From the PureWhen his Skill is triggered, if the target ally's HP is lower than 50%, Luocha's Outgoing Healing increases by 30%. If the target ally's HP is at 50% or higher, the ally receives a Shield that can absorb DMG equal to 18% of Luocha's ATK plus 240, lasting for 2 turns.
3Surveyal by the FoolSkill Lv. +2, up to a maximum of Lv. 15. Basic ATK Lv. +1, up to a maximum of Lv. 10.
4Heavy Lies the CrownWhen Luocha's Field is active, enemies become Weakened and deal 12% less DMG.
5Cicatrix 'Neath the PainUltimate Lv. +2, up to a maximum of Lv. 15. Talent Lv. +2, up to a maximum of Lv. 15.
6Reunion With the DustWhen using the Ultimate, there is a 100% fixed chance to reduce all enemies' All-Type RES by 20% for 2 turns.

Luocha’s Eidolon Levels provide some seriously powerful upgrades. The first one makes Luocha’s Field very useful even if none of his allies needs healing, while the second Eidolon level ensures that the Skill’s initial healing effect is never wasted by turning it into a shield. Eidolon levels 4 and 6 make Luocha an excellent enemy debuffer, thus granting him yet another support role to fulfill.

Don’t worry if you don’t have enough Stellar Jade though - Luocha is still a good support character at Eidolon level 0. If you’re planning on upgrading a 5-star character’s Eidolons, however, Luocha is definitely worth the effort.

Best Luocha Build

Time to create the best build for Luocha. Here’s an overview of the best Light Cones, Relics, Ornaments, and stats for our new favorite healer.

Best Lightcone

Lightcone Name/RarityLight Cone AbilityHow to ObtainNotes
Shared Feeling

✧✧✧✧

Increases the wearer's Outgoing Healing by 10-20%. When using a Skill, regenerates 2-4 Energy for all allies.Gacha weapon bannerImproves Luocha’s healing ability. Plus, it's a great way to regain Energy for the team.
Quid Pro Quo

✧✧✧✧

At the start of the wearer's turn, regenerates 8-16 Energy for a randomly chosen ally (excluding the wearer) whose current Energy is lower than 50%.Obtained for free at Trailblaze level 20, Echo of War rewardTurns Luocha into an Energy support. He’s fast enough to provide a considerable Energy increase.
Echoes of the Coffin

✧✧✧✧✧

Increases ATK of the wearer by 20-40%. After the wearer uses their Ultimate, all allies gain 16-32 Speed for 1 turn. Additionally, for each different target the wearer attacks, they recover 5 Energy. Each attack can recover Energy a maximum of 3 times.Gacha weapon bannerImproves Luocha’s support role with a team buff. Can recover a total of 45 Energy per battle.

This won’t come as a surprise, but the best Light Cone for Luocha is the 5-star Echoes of the Coffin, which increases his attack power (thereby improving his healing too), and offers an amazing Speed buff for the team. As Luocha’s build already places a lot of emphasis on his Ultimate, it’s simply a perfect fit.

To find the best 4-star Light Cone for Luocha, think about his role on your team. If you wish to improve his healing, go for Shared Feeling, but if you want him to be a better Energy regeneration support for the team, Quid Pro Quo is your number one choice.

Keep in mind that Quid Pro Quo always generates Energy during Luocha's turn, while Shared Feeling only does so if he uses his Skill. If the Field is already up and no ally is in need of HP, it's usually better to gain a Skill Point with Luocha's Basic Attack, in which case he won't be triggering the Energy recharge.

If you don't have any suitable 4-star Abundance Light Cone, any 3-star will do. Cornucopia is especially suitable for early-game teams as it improves Luocha's healing.

Best Relics

Relic Name/RarityRelic Set EffectHow to ObtainNotes
Passerby of Wandering Cloud

- Cavern Relic

2pc: Increases Outgoing Healing by 10%. 4pc: At the beginning of the battle, immediately recovers 1 Skill Point.Cavern of Corrosion - Path of DriftingThe 4pc effect isn't very strong, but the outgoing healing bonus is very useful.
Musketeer of Wild Wheat

- Cavern Relic

2pc: ATK increases by 12%.

4pc: The wearer's SPD increases by 6% and Basic ATK DMG increases by 10%.

Cavern of Corrosion - Path of DriftingThe 2pc ATK% is especially useful as it boosts Luocha's damage output and healing.
Space Sealing Station

- Planar Ornament

2pc: Increases the wearer's ATK by 12%. When the wearer's SPD reaches 120 or higher, the wearer's ATK increases by an extra 12%.Simulated UniverseThe ATK% will improve Luocha's damage and healing. Be sure to increase his Speed to at least 120.

None of the current Relic sets is a perfect fit for Luocha, but a 2pc combo of Musketeer of the Wild Wheat and Passerby of Wandering Cloud would give him a proper attack boost and healing improvement. As a bonus, you can farm both these sets in the same Cavern of Corrosion.

As long as your Luocha build has a Speed stat of at least 120, the Space Sealing Station will give him a 24% attack increase, making this the best Ornament set.

Best Stats

  • Body: Outgoing Healing Boost or ATK%
  • Feet: Speed (priority) or ATK%
  • Planar Sphere: ATK%
  • Link Rope: Energy Regeneration Rate (priority) or ATK%
  • Sub stats: ATK%, Speed, Critical Rate

As mentioned before, Luocha's damage output and healing ability both scale with his attack power, making ATK% his most important stat. However, it's best to use Speed and Energy Regeneration on the Feet and Link Rope slots respectively, as we need him to cast his Ultimate as often as possible.

Remember that Luocha needs at least 120 Speed to make full use of the Space Sealing Station Ornament set, so use a 5-star Speed Relic on the Feet slot if possible.

Best Teams for Luocha

Luocha is a great fit for almost any Honkai: Star Rail team, but he's especially strong when teamed up with an attack boost support such as Tingyun or Yukong, as it will improve both his healing ability (which scales with his attack) and damage output. The remaining slots should be filled by at least one strong DPS and possibly a debuff support.

Seele Carry Team

Healing Support - Luocha Buff Support - YukongDPS - SeeleDebuff Support - Silver Wolf

As one of the strongest DPS characters in the game, the best possible team composition for Luocha should ideally feature Seele (Quantum). To ensure that all enemies have either Quantum or Imaginary Weakness, Silver Wolf is there to cast her weakness-implanting Skill.

At first glance, you may think that Tingyun would be the best team buffer, but we don't want to make Silver Wolf's job harder than it has to be. Tingyun would add a third Element to the team (Lightning), but Silver Wolf's Weakness implants are randomized based on the team's Elements - so it's best to stick with just Quantum and Imaginary. If she implants Imaginary instead of Quantum, Luocha will still be able to deal good damage to the affected opponent, especially after receiving Yukong's attack boost. Keep in mind that Luocha may also use Yukong's buff to improve his healing ability!

FAQs

Can Luocha be a DPS? ›

As one of the strongest DPS characters in the game, the best possible team composition for Luocha should ideally feature Seele (Quantum).

Is Luocha easy to build? ›

Usually, you'd have an easy time building a healer, but Luocha is a little different. You need to look for a bunch of stats on him if you want to make him as strong as possible. You can't get Energy Regeneration Rate as a sub-stat in Honkai: Star Rail and SPD is also quite rare.

What is the best 4 star LC for Luocha? ›

Showcasing Luocha in its artwork, Perfect Timing stands out as one of the most suitable 4-star light cone options for him. This light cone not only increases Luocha's Effect RES, making him less vulnerable to adverse effects from enemies, but also boosts his Outgoing Healing based on his Effect RES.

Should I pull for Luocha or Acheron? ›

And even without a Harmony character supporting her, Acheron still has sky-high damage potential. Not only that, she also boasts hands-down the best animations in the entire game so far. If there is one character we can recommend trying to pull in version 2.1, then it will be Acheron.

Do Blade and Luocha work well together? ›

Blade and Luocha have an exceedingly strong synergy, thanks to Luocha's ability to heal characters each time they attack, as well as healing them in a follow-up attack when their HP drops below 50%.

What is the best weapon for Luocha? ›

As it's his signature, the 5-Star Echoes of the Coffin Light Cone is Luocha's best weapon in Honaki Star Rail. Echoes of the Coffin increases Luocha's attack by 20% when equipped, and after he uses his Ultimate, all allies gain 16 Speed for one turn.

Why is Luocha so good? ›

With him on your team, you can keep your focus on your other characters & leave all the healing to him. Plus, he can cleanse (remove debuffs), which is a very important survival technique in turn based games aside fron taunt. Both his skill point-friendly kit & cleanse gives him value over a lot of sustainers.

Does Luocha need crit? ›

Players should aim for around 2k ATK for Luocha, as anything beyond that is unnecessary and a waste of his sub stats. Balancing crit stats and giving him SPD can maximize his potential. The Passerby of Wandering Cloud and Musketeer of Wild Wheat sets are recommended for their healing and ATK buffs.

Is Luocha a good healer? ›

Luocha is a great healer, no doubt, but doesn't he mitigate Blade's damage by auto healing him constantly? As soon as Blade uses his ult, Luocha will get him right back up and that happens very often cause usually don't get hurt so much that Luocha's talent triggers.

Is huohuo better than Luocha? ›

Huohuo - Her main point is faster Ultimates and ATK buffs to push for faster clears. You do need to keep her talent in mind and how it works for intense battles. She works better than Luocha if you have a lot of non-damaging Ultimates.

Is Luocha good at E0? ›

Just don't expect him to be BiS and you won't be disappointed. I haven't run into many situations where I wish I had a different sustainer at E0. He's been my most used since launch because he plays nicely with some units I use a lot, like Jingliu and Clara.

Does Luocha need his Light Cone? ›

For the most part, it's just a nice bonus effect. The buff will definitely have more uptime on Luocha, assuming it's a multi-target fight and you get a nice amount of energy from the Ultimate with the light cone.

Is perfect timing good on Luocha? ›

Perfect Timing increases Luocha's Effect RES, making him less vulnerable to adverse effects from enemies, and also boosts his Outgoing Healing based on his Effect RES.

Is Luocha good with bronya? ›

5 Luocha + Seele + Bronya + Tingyun

It is worth noting that Bronya's Ultimate skill synergizes well with Luocha, primarily due to the ATK buff she grants to all allies, alongside the Crit DMG bonus. In this scenario, Tingyun's role remains focused on buffing Seele for optimal damage output.

Is Luocha good with Imbibitor Lunae? ›

Healer - Luocha

If you don't use Silver Wolf on your Imbibitor Lunae team, there's no need to use additional Imaginary characters. Luocha will still be the best choice of healer, but it's better to swap Yukong for Bronya or Tingyun.

Is Luocha a good character? ›

Luocha is one of the game's earliest characters & was seen as one of the best sustainer of that time. Despite the release of Fu Xuan who can heal & Huohuo, I do believe Luocha is still the game's best healer because his healing is quite passive.

Is Luocha still a good healer? ›

He is an amazing healer and an excellent pull especially if you don't have Bailu/Gepard.
