How many games can a PS3 160GB hold? ›

The storage capacity of your PS3 determines how many games you can install. For example, a 160GB PS3 could hold around 8-16 games if each game requires about 10-20GB.

The 40 GB, 80 GB (CECHL, CECHM, and CECHK) and 160 GB models have two USB ports instead of the four USB ports on other models and do not include multiple flash card readers, SACD support, or backward compatibility with PlayStation 2 games.

Once in the system settings panel, scroll up or down the menu until you reach the option to 'Restore PS3 System' and choose this option with the X button on the controller. When asked if you are sure, select “Yes.” On the following prompt select “Quick Format.” Another prompt will ask you if you are sure.

On July 29, 2010, the 160GB and 320GB PS3 slims were released in Japan, in charcoal black and classic white. These models supplant the previous 120GB and 250GB slim models. Other than larger HDD's, they are identical to the previous slim models.

The original 60GB and 20GB launch models are backward compatible with PS2 games because they have PS2 chips. Other models, most notably the 80GB Metal Gear Solid PS3, used emulation software to be backward compatible but no longer support PS2 games.

Only some fat PS3s are backwards compatible, but not all of them are. The "slim" and "super slim" models are not backwards compatible.

To locate the model and serial number of the PlayStation 3 system, look on the back of the system and locate the bar code sticker. Underneath the bar code you will see the 11-digit serial number followed by the model number which begins with "CECH".

What to do before you sell your PS3? ›

You'll have to do this from the console itself, as your controllers are likely frozen as well. Hold the Power button for about 30 seconds. You'll hear three rapid beeps and your PS3 will turn itself off. Wait a few seconds, then press the Power button to turn it back on.

From the recovery menu, the user may Restore Default settings, Restore File System, Rebuild Database, Restore the PlayStation 3's System and Update the system.

Turn off your PS3. Enter Safe Mode by holding down the power button until you hear three beeps. Select "Restore PS3 System." This will perform a factory reset.

Depends on the size of your memory card and the game files. The biggest game files are between 3–4 GB, but I find that most files weigh in under 1.5 GB. You can fit maybe 6–12 games on a 16 GB memory card as rough guesstimate.

So 500gb should be able to hold around 40.. It better to get an 500GB PS3 console that holds at least 300+PS3 games and more then 25 Digital games it will hold.

It was originally available with hard drives of 20 and 60 GB (20 GB model was not available in PAL regions) but various sizes up to 500 GB have been made available since then (see: model comparison).

I had a 250GB PS3 and comfortably stored around 20 games. It really varies based on the game sizes and any additional content or updates the games might require. It all depends on the size of the PS3's hard drive and the size of the games.
