OAK CREEK– We dive into my Defensive Back Standouts from our Prep Redzone Wisconsin Showcase in Oak Creek last Sunday. Defensive back groups have never been stacked from a numbers perspective, but the number you will like is how many next-level grades I have on the them, which in my eyes stand at just under 90% of the prospects on this list. Who are they? Find out below of who were the dogs of the secondary last Sunday in Oak Creek.

School: Brookfield East

One of the first defensive backs that caught my eyes in the second session was Brookfield East 2026 Jake Snyder Jake Snyder 6’1″ | 175 lbs | DB Brookfield East | 2026 State WI . Jake showed off persistent pad-level in Indy Drills with his attacking hands. He also at 6’1 175 pounds, showed off significant range in his steps to the ball as that popped out in Oak Creek and pops out efficiently on tape too. Jake showed off as a defensive back today, but this kid has some position flexibility, as he plays on all three levels of the field and is a 2026 to track out of Brookfield East.

State: Wisconsin

School: Sturgeon Bay

One of a couple Door County prospects I had notes on from Sunday at our Prep Redzone Wisconsin Showcase was Sturgeon Bay 2025 Patrick Haese Patrick Haese 5’10” | 175 lbs | ATH Sturgeon Bay | 2025 State WI . Signed up as a wide receiver, and stood out significantly as a defensive back as one of our Best of the Best top performers at the end of the session. Patrick showed off well-balanced footwork and although not the biggest DB in Oak Creek, the athletic length of his strides certainly caught these eyes. Patrick was a technician to be reckoned with in Indy Drills as he showed off great ball-tracking ability and was one of the biggest start to finish stockrisers amongst the defensive back group, as Patrick’s instincts were growing swiftly through the day. Patrick certainly looks to have a next-level ceiling on either side of the ball.

Nolan Anderson

State: Wisconsin

School: Menomonee Falls

Nolan was a defensive back prospect out of Menomonee Falls that had one of the best football IQs I saw within the 2025 class in the defensive back group. You also have to note that he has only been playing in the secondary for just over a year, so the ceiling Nolan has back there certainly is going to grow a ton over the next handful of years. He showed off high levels of athleticism and he showed off an agile quick release out of his brakes. Nolan also showed off some fluid hands and showed off an enhanced pad-level in Indy drills and was another Best of the Best top performer in our defensive back group. 5’10 180 pounds are Nolan’s measurables, but even in a non-contact camp setting on Sunday, Nolan played with a physical chip on his shoulder as that lines up right when you see him on tape. Nolan has plenty of FCS interest, and coaches will love his football IQ and high ceiling at the next-level and I certainly prefer my defensive backs to have a track background like he has.

School: Monona Grove

It sure seems that if I were picking a team MVP from the Prep Redzone Wisconsin Showcase, the Monona Grove Silver Eagles would be a favorite, as they add their 3rd prospect to my growing lists, as we met their 2025 defensive back Chase Yinko Chase Yinko 5’9″ | 170 lbs | DB Monona Grove | 2025 State WI midway thru 1v1s on Sunday in Oak Creek. I loved what I saw out of Chase’s rangy ball-tracking ability to take shape as I felt on the couple reps I watched out of him this young man came out of nowhere and used his longer than you would expect strides to show off his sideline to sideline presence. Chase’s burst also showed that his lower body fires up quickly, as we await the testing numbers he showed that with not just his speed, but his downhill motor churns up quickly that we saw in early testing. If you watch the first clip on tape, you will see this last sentence exactly. You can’t let that 5’9 170 pound frame fool you, as Chase plays well-bigger than that and should certainly get some attention this summer at college camps as he’s in my go outside the measureables threeshold and go recruit this young man category.

Sentrell Watts

CLASS 2026

Sentrell Watts

School: Westosha Central

Sentrell was an interesting new 2026 prospect to my radar out of Westosha Central that I had some notes on from Sunday at our Prep Redzone Wisconsin Showcase. By far one of the smaller defensive backs we had at 5’8, however, the attention to detail this young man showed while working with the college coaches certainly showed off his determination to get constantly better from start of camp to finish and it showed from the start of Indy into 1v1s. One of the areas where Sentrell excelled I thought was with his footwork, as the college coaches early wanted him to go at their pace in Indy Drills and by the end, Sentrell showed off the football IQ he has brewing. He has some growth yet to be seen in the weight and is raw at the moment with his skillsets, but the development curve is something to watch out of this junior to-be.

Oliver Wenning

State: Wisconsin

School: Middleton

Oliver Wenning Oliver Wenning 5’10” | 185 lbs | DB Middleton | 2026 State WI was one of Middleton’s starting defensive backs as a sophom*ore, and was by far the best 2026 defensive backs at the Prep Redzone Wisconsin Showcase in my eyes. Just watching this young man early in Indy Drills, you just had to love the feel and instincts that Oliver has for the secondary as even as underclassmen, I love his football IQ and it will progress I am sure even more with a couple more seasons left within the Cardinals defense and having a older brother that plays in the FCS at linebacker helps his pedigree and defensive growth as well. Oliver also impressed me with his athleticism in Indy Drills, as watching him high top the football in the air just shows how well-versed his work ethic is and shows volumes of his ball skills. Expect to see another Wenning brother out of Middleton at the next-level in a couple years on the defensive side of the ball.

Zaire Hatchett

CLASS 2025

Zaire Hatchett

School: Milwaukee Lutheran

Surprisingly enough, we had two wide receivers that flipped their position over to defensive back and with Milwaukee Lutheran 2025 Zaire Hatchett, I thought it paid off for next-level potential with is now seen and verified by college coaches and scouts his position flexibility as Zaire has a much longer frame than his 5’11 body gives him credit for. The glued physicality that Zaire played with in 1v1s reps and Indy Drills was very tough for wide receivers to feed themselves out of. I thought Zaire had some of the best balance with his ball-tracking ability especially on intermediate on deep routes. The tape also shows off Zaire is a weapon as a kickoff returner, as his vision is very crafty and I like the poise he brings to the table as he an get thru some high traffic areas and find fluid rhythm down the sidelines. I believe Zaire highly improved his pass coverage during our Prep Redzone Wisconsin Showcase and is a three-level 2025 athlete that is dynamic on all three levels of the field at 5’11 150 pounds. Someone’s got to get this youngster on Twitter, cause I think college coaches are going to like what they see out of this under the radar defensive back.

State: Wisconsin

School: Vel Phillips Madison Memorial

By far my favorite defensive back of the day and our DB MVP, it is time to meet Madison Memorial 2025 DB prospect Marion Moore Marion Moore 5’11” | 160 lbs | DB Vel Phillips Madison Memorial | 2025 State WI . If there is one thing I know about the Spartans being a Madison native, is that for years they have been a hotbed for the defensive back position especially with Tyrone Braxton and Jordan Fredrick, and into my days with Prep Redzone, Anthony Ward who was a favorite Spartans defensive back of mine back in 2020 and 2021 and now Marion Moore Marion Moore 5’11” | 160 lbs | DB Vel Phillips Madison Memorial | 2025 State WI is next up amongst that stellar list of Spartans defensive backs. I was a massive fan of Marion’s character from the start as you can tell this kid will light up the room with his demeanor with his teammates and has team-leader capabilities I could gauge. From a technique perspective, I and our Head Wisconsin Scout, Mark Johnson thought Marion Moore Marion Moore 5’11” | 160 lbs | DB Vel Phillips Madison Memorial | 2025 State WI was the most savvy with his pad-level, ball-tracking ability, vision, instincts, and much more which is why he took home the hardware of our DB MVP. He also is extremely agile, and can press down the gas pedal in the opposite direction with his lower body dexterity. Marion also shows off excellent position angles as his football IQ shows off a prospect that is precisely in the right spot at the right time a high percentage of the time. If I were a recruiter, I would offer this young man right now as he is a damaging athlete on both sides of the ball that fits perfectly at cornerback at the next-level, but has the position flexibility too.
